He holds an interdisciplinary doctorate and his dissertation entitled "A Conceptual Framework for Communication-Instruction in Architectural Design" addressed architectural design education from an interdisciplinary perspective. Research interests include architectural issues relevant to design for children, architectural design education, and comparative theoretical perspectives in architecture.

He has published widely on architecturally sensitive spaces and buildings for children, and on architectural design education and pedagogy. He has extensive international teaching and/or professional experience in Australia, Germany, Pakistan, and Turkey.

Research Interests: Environments of children and architectural education.
