Research interests are in the area of theory include the
psychology of memory, forgetting and the mnemonic
function of architecture, the phenomenology of personal places and the ideal of "home", and the phenomenology of collecting.
They also include topics in architectural history such as the architecture of Rome, Jesuit architecture in Italy, the art and architecture of Michelangelo, the practice of mnemonic design, and the Arts and Crafts Movement in America. Amongst his areas of interest and expertise in professional practice are church design and liturgical programming, furniture design and construction, and interior design and renovation
