    Architecture 131S - Basic Design Studio I
    An introduction to the basic concepts, methods, and skills of architectural design in a project-based, active learning, studio environment. Prerequisite or concurrent: Arch 121

    Architecture 132 - Basic Design Studio II
    Continuation of ARCH 131S which further explores basic concepts, methods, and skills of architectural design with an emphasis on craftsmanship. Prerequisite: Arch 121, Arch 131S . Prerequisite or concurrent: Arch 122

    Ancient to Medieval Architecture
    A survey of Prehistoric, Ancient Near Eastern Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Early Christian, Byzantine, Early Medieval, Romanesque, and Gothic architecture.
  • Art History 202 (3 credits)
    Renaissance to Modern Architecture
    A survey of Renaissance, Baroque, Rococco, Romantic, Victorian, Modern, Post-Modern, and Contemporary architecture in Europe and America.

Second Year

  • Architecture 203 (3 credits each)
    Architecture 203 - Materials and Building Construction I
    Instruction in the design and construction of buildings utilizing wood and steel. Prerequisite: third-semester standing in the architecture curriculum.

    Architecture 204 (3 credits earch)
    Architecture 204 - Materials and Building Construction II
    This course will continue the presentations of Arch 203, with a focus on concrete and masonry materials. Prerequisite: Arch 203, fourth semester standing in the Architecture curriculum.

    A study of architectural practice in today’s society:  education, registration, office practice, codes, standards, construction industry, contracts, and legal documents.  Prerequisite: seventh-semester standing in architecture curriculum

    Architecture 480 – Technical Systems Integration
    Presentations of buildings’ analyses from a multiplicity of viewpoints:  architectural, spacial, environmental, mechanical, construction assembly.  Prerequisite: fifth-year standing in the architecture curriculum or approval by instructor

    Architecture 491 – Architectural Design VII - Thesis I
