Penn State Department of Architecture hosts an annual Architecture/Landscape Architecture Summer Camp

Summer Camp 2008 will be held July 13 through July 17.

During the summer experience campers utilized the new facilities of the Penn State School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and were mentored by faculty, alumni and experienced undergraduate students. The camp’s interactive educational experiences included computer drawing and design exercises, a tour and workshop at a construction site sponsored by Gilbane, an interactive visit to the Center for Sustainability at Penn State, a field trip to Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous houses Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob, hands-on building and model-making activities, a visit to the architecture office of L. Robert Kimball & Associates in State College and various lectures, films, campus tours and social events.
The Penn State Architecture Summer Camp provides an opportunity for high school students interested in architecture, landscape architecture, architectural engineering or construction management the opportunity to experience the profession and see firsthand the kinds of activities that take place in a university architectural program.
